TITLE
ABC: Resources and Tools for Students at the School of Management and Economics

DELIVERY MODE
Online via BEM’s Moodle platform

PERIOD AND DURATION
From November 1st each year until October 31st of the following year, with an estimated duration of 4 hours

DESCRIPTION
Basic course aimed at first-year students.
It introduces the characteristics of scientific communication, presents different types of printed and digital documents, tools for bibliographic research, access to databases both on-campus and off-campus, and the services offered by BEM to support students.

Writing Your Thesis: Tools and Methods

PERIOD AND DURATION
From November 1st each year until October 31st of the following year, with an estimated duration of 8 hours

DESCRIPTION
Thematic course aimed at second- and third-year undergraduate students.
Covers the methodology of documentary research for thesis writing, including the phases and characteristics of the research process, examples of primary and secondary sources, tools for literature analysis, and guidance on managing citations and bibliographies.

TITLE
Managing Your Thesis Bibliography

Online via BEM’s Moodle platform

PERIOD AND DURATION
November – October, with an estimated duration of 8 hours

DESCRIPTION
Course aimed at SME students preparing to write their master’s thesis.
Focuses on issues related to managing citations and bibliographies: the purpose of citations, citation styles, bibliographies and web references, and an introduction to Reference Management Systems, with particular emphasis on Zotero.

BEM4You Courses are in-person training programs designed for master’s degree students.

Their goal is to help students become familiar with essential tools for literature analysis and citation management, providing support in organising their research work.

ZOTERO

The course “Managing Citations and Bibliographies with Zotero” offers a hands-on learning path to master Zotero, an essential tool for organizing and managing bibliographic references.

Designed for students, researchers, and anyone working with bibliographic sources, the sessions guide participants step by step—from navigating the interface, to entering and organizing citations, to automatically generating bibliographies in their documents.

Participants will gain practical skills to integrate Zotero into their academic workflow and improve the management of sources in their research.
